Necessity of using explosion-proof forklifts
Forklifts are used as a logistics handling, loading and unloading, and stacking machine in more and more fields and places. However, in many industries and units such as petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, pigment, paint, coal, and national defense, when producing, concentrating, liquefying, storing and transporting flammable gases; or producing, filling, releasing, storing and transporting flammable liquids, and using these liquids to handle and clean objects, the flammable gas or dust that may be generated may mix with the air to form an explosive mixture, making these areas inaccessible to ordinary forklifts. Explosion-proof forklifts are specially designed and produced for places where explosive gases or dust may be generated.
Division of explosion-proof areas
Depending on the frequency and duration of explosive environments, hazardous areas are divided into different areas.
Gas areas are divided into three areas: Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2;
Dust areas are divided into three areas: Zone 20, Zone 21 and Zone 22.
| areas | Division of hazardous areas | |||
| Zone 0 | Places where explosive gas atmosphere occurs continuously or for a long time | |||
| Zone 1 | Places where explosive gas atmosphere may occur during normal operation | |||
| Zone 2 | In normal operation, explosive gas atmospheres are unlikely to occur, and if they do occur, they occur only occasionally and for a short period of time. | |||
| Zone 20 | An explosive atmosphere that occurs continuously or for a long time or frequently in the form of a combustible dust cloud in the air | |||
| Zone 21 | An explosive atmosphere in the form of combustible dust clouds in the air that may occasionally occur under normal operating conditions | |||
| Zone 22 | An explosive atmosphere in the form of combustible dust mist in the air that is unlikely to occur under normal working conditions or is likely to occur only for a short period of time | |||
