To keep your forklifts running efficiently during the change of seasons, we have compiled a seasonal maintenance guide.

Body protection: Put on protective clothing for forklifts

Autumn mornings and evenings are characterized by heavy dew, often leaving forklift surfaces damp. If there are noticeable scratches on the forklift body, repaint it promptly to prevent moisture and rust. Summer's acid rain and rain, combined with strong direct sunlight, can inevitably cause oxidation in the forklift's paint. Therefore, cleaning and paint maintenance are particularly important during the seasonal transition.

Tire maintenance: the first step to safe driving

Tires play a crucial role in safe forklift operation. In the summer, due to high temperatures, tire pressure should be checked frequently to prevent blowouts caused by excessive pressure. In the fall, with lower temperatures, tire pressure will drop accordingly and should be maintained within the specified range. Also, check tires for scratches. Because rubber tends to harden and become brittle in autumn and winter, tires are more susceptible to leakage, so debris trapped in the tire tread should be regularly removed.

Engine room inspection: Keep the forklift's blood flowing smoothly

Check the engine compartment for sufficient oil, brake fluid, and antifreeze, and check if they are deteriorating or need to be replaced. Engine oil is like the blood of your vehicle; it must be replaced regularly to ensure smooth oil circulation.

Braking system: the lifeline of safe operation

The large temperature difference between day and night in autumn can easily cause the vehicle body to expand, contract, or deform. Frequently check the brakes for weakening, deviation, or changes in brake pedal pressure. If necessary, clean the entire brake system piping.

Air intake system: keep breathing freely

Check the intake pipe or grille for debris. If any debris is present, blow away the dust with compressed air. Note: When the engine is cool, you can clean these areas inside and out with a water jet.

Thoughtful seasonal maintenance not only extends the life of your forklift but also ensures operational safety. At this changing season, take the time to give your forklift a thorough "checkup"! Keep it in top condition for new work challenges.
