At present, the role of electric forklifts in the production, logistics and warehousing processes of enterprises is becoming increasingly prominent, and the demand for electric forklifts in all walks of life is gradually increasing. If the battery of electric drive forklift is used or stored for too long and the power is reduced, it must be charged in time. When the lead-acid battery is charged, the water in the electrolyte will be electrolyzed into hydrogen and oxygen, and escape indoors. At the same time, short circuit and explosion will occur during battery charging, which will cause serious harm to personnel, companies, property and environment.
During the charging and discharging process of the battery, the water in the electrolyte will gradually decrease due to electrolysis and evaporation, causing the electrolyte level to drop. If it is not replenished in time, it may shorten the service life of the battery, and distilled water should be replenished in time. Do not use drinking pure water instead, because pure water contains a variety of trace elements, which will have adverse effects on the battery.
Charging safety management
1.The place where the battery is charged or stored should maintain good mechanical ventilation and have ventilation facilities.
2 Smoking and any open flames are prohibited in the forklift charging area.
3 Eyewash sprayers must be installed in the forklift charging area as required, and employees responsible for charging must wear protective glasses and work clothes.
4 When charging, open the battery cover to prevent residue from entering. It is strictly forbidden to store sundries on the cover, especially combustibles and flammables.
5 The battery must be kept clean and dry around to prevent leakage, poor contact, and excessive local resistance from causing accidents.
6 Do not add other substances to the battery. Only fill it with distilled water to above the scale line after charging to ensure that the battery water is sufficient during the shift, and then wipe the battery surface with a wet cloth to prevent static electricity.
7 Unprotected tools or other conductive materials cannot be used or placed above the battery terminal, otherwise it will cause a short circuit, resulting in personal injury and battery explosion.
8 When charging the forklift battery, make sure that the battery is installed correctly, safely and fixed in place, and ensure that the positive and negative poles of the charging cable are connected correctly and in good contact.
9 Charge the replaced battery immediately and keep relevant records. When checking or maintaining the battery, rubber insulating gloves should be used to avoid electric shock accidents.
