Forklift operators should pay attention to the fact that all parts and components should be cleaned promptly after disassembling the electric transport truck, whether for repair or maintenance.
When cleaning the oil cylinders, it is best to use gasoline; the brake system should be cleaned with brake fluid or alcohol; for cleaning other parts, cleaning agents can be selected according to the situation, but it must be ensured that oil or other dirt and rust can be removed for easy inspection.
Below, the transport truck manufacturer will teach you several ways to remove oil stains. These methods can be applied regardless of the price of the forklift.

Degreasing with alkaline solution

The first method is to use alkaline solution to remove oil stains on the parts of electric transport trucks. Adding emulsifiers (liquid soap, etc.) to the alkaline solution has a good effect on cleaning oil stains.
The concentration of the alkaline solution used for cleaning should be moderate. Generally, 1.0 kg of caustic soda and 0.2 kg of liquid soap can be added to 100 kg of water. The alkaline boiling method can also be used, that is, the parts are boiled and washed in an alkaline solution heated to 70℃~90℃. Generally, steel parts are boiled and washed for 10min~15min, rinsed with hot water after taking out, and then dried for use.
Because alkali has a corrosive effect on metals, no matter how much the forklift price is, active metals such as aluminum alloys on electric transport trucks should not be cleaned with strong alkali. They can be cleaned with a solution prepared by adding 0.15 kg of sodium silicate and 0.2 kg of liquid soap to 100 kg of water.

Removing oil stains with organic solvents

The second method is to use organic solvents to remove oil stains on electric transport truck parts. Organic solvents can dissolve various oil stains without damaging parts and are good degreasing agents. Organic solvents used in maintenance are mostly gasoline, kerosene, diesel, etc. These oils can meet the requirements of mechanical repair and assembly without special equipment, but the cost is high and uneconomical. For cleaning with special requirements, such as expensive instruments, surface treatment of bonded parts, etc., organic solvents such as alcohol and acetone can be used. The transport truck manufacturer tells everyone that regardless of the price of the forklift, this type of solvent has strong degreasing ability, good volatility, and high cleaning quality, but it is not economical.

Cleaning of non-metallic parts

The third method is about cleaning non-metallic parts on electric transport trucks. Rubber parts (brake cups, leather rings, etc.) should be cleaned with alcohol or brake fluid. The transport truck manufacturer reminds everyone that it is strictly forbidden to use gasoline, alkaline solutions and other cleaning fluids to clean in order to prevent the parts from swelling and deterioration.
Brake pads and clutch friction plates should be cleaned with gasoline and then dried before use.
Leather parts (such as leather oil seals, etc.) can generally be used after being wiped clean with a dry cloth.
