During the operation of a forklift, there are two inconspicuous parts - the fuel filter and the fuel pump. What important functions do they have? The former is the "kidney", filtering impurities to keep healthy; the latter is the "heart", pumping blood for power. So what are their specific functions?
Fuel filter: the "purification guard" of forklift
1. Structure and function The gasoline filter consists of three parts: the upper cover, the filter element, and the sedimentation cup, just like a precision sieve;
Filter element: the core filter layer, intercepts impurities such as iron oxide and dust.
Sedimentation cup: with an anti-fouling screw plug at the bottom, the sedimentation dirt can be discharged regularly.
Sealing design: multi-layer gaskets and bolts ensure "zero leakage" of fuel.
2. Two forms, double protection
Filter type: physical interception of impurities through the filter element, efficient but requires regular replacement.
Sedimentation type: using gravity to precipitate water and particles, suitable for coarse filtration pretreatment.
3. Not changing the filter element = chronic suicide?
Poor quality fuel or long-term non-change of the filter element will have serious consequences.
Injector nozzle blockage: power decreases, fuel consumption soars.
Cylinder wear: impurities scratch the cylinder wall, and the maintenance cost doubles!
Recommendation: Replace every 500 hours or half a year, and shorten the cycle for severe working conditions!
Gasoline pump: the "power heart" of forklifts
1. Core mission: Pressure fuel supply mechanically driven diaphragm gasoline pump, installed on the engine side, driven by the camshaft eccentric wheel, to ensure that the fuel goes directly from the fuel tank to the carburetor, and is pressurized stably throughout the whole process.
2. Working principle: one suction and one pressure, precise fuel supply
Suction stage: the eccentric wheel pushes the rocker arm, the pump membrane moves down → the oil chamber expands → the oil inlet valve opens, and the fuel is sucked in.
Pumping stage: the eccentric wheel resets, the pump membrane spring pushes up → the oil chamber is compressed → the oil outlet valve opens, and the fuel is pressed into the carburetor.
3. Maintenance points
Regularly check whether the pump membrane is aging and cracking to avoid oil leakage.Oil pump makes abnormal noise or unstable fuel supply? Stop the machine immediately for troubleshooting!
Every drop of fuel in a forklift carries productivity. Regular maintenance of the fuel filter and fuel pump not only prolongs the life of the engine, but also ensures operational safety!
